Synopsis:

Un jeune touriste japonais se réveille enfermé dans un entrepôt, sans savoir qui il est ni où il se trouve. 
Dans cet endroit lugubre, une jeune femme portant un masque tente de le tuer. Il lutte alors pour sa survie contre cette jeune fille, ce "Phantom" appelée Ein. C'est sans se douter que la scène est préparée et observée par les membres d'une mystérieuse organisation, Inferno, qui veulent faire de lui le second "Phantom", Zwei...

Zwei va toujours se battre avec une extraordinaire volonté de survie, possédant d'étranges capacités; cependant, ignorant tout de lui, il n'est plus qu'un "Phantom" comme Ein au service d'Inferno, dont on ignore les véritables intentions...
